The Girls Room Update

So, despite running things while i am either stuck in bed or on the sofa, G has been using every spare 5 minutes to try and finish the painting of the girls new room. We have started to move the toys in from the spare room so the we can continue to dump everything into that room because we have found it is easier to sort through carrier bags of stuff in one room than from all over the house.

T&G nicely painted. Thank you so much

Fireplace now on the wall and another shelf added. Thank you G.

So this is a sneak peep, the light was rubbish so i didn't take anymore photos, but all the painting is done except for the back of the door. We are going to line the furniture with a wrapping paper I've seen, but it may take time to pick that up from the shop, then we can choose a colour to paint those items, probably pink too but maybe we will plump for a cream or green or my personal favourite, grey.

There is still so much to do and i want it to be irresistible to them so maybe they'll sleep in there rather than coming in with me. Its quite a spacious room and really rather echoey, i still need to make curtains and buy bed linen, beds and all the other dust collecting things that little girls like.

maybe better light tomorrow
have a nice eve

BritMitFit - Broke Me

So started to get myself fit on Shrove Tuesday, beautiful morning, sun shining, down on the beach, up and down the shingle medicine balls up and down in and out the water throwing stones, jump, jump. run, run. Warm up over.

Off we go, the ones in blue vests, those not as fit, or newcomers, jumped 2ft off a breakwater, perfect, and again and what have you got, a broken ankle and a lardy arse stuck on the shingle.

Anyway without going into detail of what happened next, the fun started at A&E where the Emergency Nurse Practitioner, also an ex marine thinks too, that i have just pulled something. i only have gone to hospital as i think they will be able to give me more pain relief than at the local chemist, but i did hear a snap, and hope that on one will notice.

The marine that i have arrived with wheels me round to xray and sure enough its broken in three places, and something is shifted which means an operation and worse an admittance to the ward.

i start to panic, i can't, i have children and a life, i have to go home, just put it in a cast, it will heal.
"you can either get it fixed or be a cripple for the rest of your life", says the ENP, so, this is what they learn on the Breaking Bad News Course, but, it is an option in my mind at least i can go and get dinner on the table and get home to where surely the nightmare will all end.

But no, into A&E proper where my marine apologies and i ask him to leave as he has done all he can and i can cry my little eyes out with the pain and the disbelieve. They give me entinox and position the leg in an open back slab and tell me that i can't have my op today as the fucking swelling has to go down and that might take a day or two. so i inhale with all my might to get as bombed as possible and disappear in to the land of out of it.

Can't Sleep
This is on the ward in the middle of the night finishing my eldest daughters scarf that took all of 10 minutes. Nil by mouth from midnight for op on the Wednesday, didn't matter i got cancelled at 4 in the afternoon. More crying and managed a peppermint tea and a couple of shortbreads before going nil again from midnight
i have to say that i tried everything to get up the op list, including pleading that i was still feeding my baby, which didn't wash when they found out that she is well over one.

OP Done, Got a New Boot
They weren't sure if i would get my surgery on the Thursday, i was number 4 to go down and at 2pm they still were working on number 1, but i felt that they would run out of time to do 2 and 3 and sure enough that's what happened. G and I had decided that it wasn't going to go ahead so he had gone home and so i went down on my own trying not think of dying at the hands of the gas man.

The Consultant Anesthetist said he had heard that i was feeding my baby and he could use a special cocktail which would enable me to continue, they didn't use it very often, she hadn't had a feed since Monday night, she'll be fine, I'll take the regular that everyone else has.
He also said that despite it being a smallish repair it was likely to be very painful and he would try and give me a nerve block but he couldn't guarantee that it would work and i should be ready for that.
No matter, just get me through it and out the other side

2 hours to come round after op, felt like i was sleeping with a concrete block on my leg, and no, the nerve block didn't really work.

Through the Night Thursday

This is me through the night, oramorph, IV paracetamol, oxygen and anything else i could get down.
By the way, worse than all of this was having my bottom wiped by a lovely nurse who i am likely to see at the local park.
Physio Friday, got a zimmer, off painkillers by night fall, home to see my children on Saturday, thanks to family for stepping in an giving them a great time. A proper wash too. Lovely.
G picked me up and took me home like all good boyfriends should, just as well because my cards were shuffled under the anesthetic and i couldn't cope on the ward anymore, i was the youngest there by a good forty years and i didn't mind the dementia or the organic smells but the constant coming and going of visitors and staff was sending me over the edge. Edna, the Kathleen's, Celia, love ya, but i was ready to start screaming
Home - Close to the Toilet
I can do nothing, everything has to be brought to me and its a difficult lesson to learn.

G Brings Breakfast
Second Cast, I hated the Boot
After 11 days back up to fracture clinic, they gave me this lovely cast and my friend a few years ago gave me those cashmere socks both nice to look at. i will be in this for 4 weeks and after 2 weeks i might be able to put some weight on it. In the meantime, toes to nose, to get the swelling down. But at least i can shuffle around on my arse maybe i will get that work out after all.

Keep you posted, things are all over the place

Can't Stop Eating

feel really sluggish not helped by my inability to stay out of the fridge or food cupboards will officially eat anything.

today i bought lots of clothes for the girls and the most awful looking pair of cross trainers, black and sky blue.... yukky yukky ready for the big start tomorrow, my limbs are ready for another Brit Mit beating.

See the blue drawers?

now joined on to a cabinet for the new room

G is motoring on with the girls room and the room is now white ready to take the pink. we have two sets of drawers to be painted pink and lined with a nice paper and we have bought a rather grand light fitting.
all of this might be useless because T tells me she needs a bunk bed as she is planning to keep a kitten up there. i feel disappointment coming along.

there appears to be poo on the wall in the hallway and we all have to be interrogated by G
have to go, regards CM

Just to let you know - BritMitFit.

yes i did go and it was painful but like labour, you forget the torture until you go back for more.

i am glad i took the free trial because i just thought i would join and get on with it.  Apparently i did really well and managed to keep up, better than some on trail and it didn't matter that i couldn't do all the press ups or sit ups (really, i just about lifted my head off the ground), i can be taught how to do them properly.

i am glad i didn't wear a watch otherwise i would have checked the time constantly and half way through i think i could have been sick and my legs felt like timber

G asked me if i really pushed myself till i was completely out of breath, i had to explain that when you are carrying an extra 4 stone, you don't really reach that because the bulk of oneself can barely hold you up to get to that point! poor me!

I am not sure that i love it, but knitting in front of a DVD isn't going to make me i see no choice but to sign up.

it will be an expense, trainers, waterproof trousers, gloves and sensible hat.

i can only hope that in three months its all a different story otherwise i will really cry.

This eve my legs are beginning to feel heavy and there lots of parts of me twinging, arms are beginning to feel a little tired too so all good

off to clear away dinner just getting in a cheeky post while bath time happens up stairs xxx CM

Did it Kill Me?

no it didn't, because right after i posted yesterday i noticed that it's not actually on until tomorrow, silly me.

i noticed that i have my first follower, its my very lovely other half, not sure what i i think of the choice of gal he has chosen to represent his image, i am sure shes wearing a great bikini or some thing under that hair. it seems its difficult to leave a comment on blogger if you don't have the right address, probably needs more investigation.

T's fixed fire place
we, well he is decorating T's room and this is how far her got, i think it looks lovely tiles on the wall and he built the fire surround, just got to hose everything down in pink as requested

went to see the lovely new baby Elizabeth and gave the crochet blanket, she is so tiny and light, she sleeps most of the time and is a little darling. she looks like her daddy and older brother. and she makes some funny noises. didn't get as many lovely photos as would have liked as i was practicing damage control with P, who was hell bent on helping Elizabeth keep her eyes open or destroying the house. will try and visit without children or maybe take T who is really not interested in babies at all but far more manageable in company.

will clean today when we get back from mum and baby

big day tomorrow, oh lord!

Apple Monster

P is about 14 months old and i gave her, her first full apple to eat, actually she doesn't really do chopped either and after and hour or so she gave me back this.
there are no other bites on the other side by the way.

So last week i had my weigh in with Diet Lady Dianne, another story for another time but she has seen me through loosing nearly 2 stone, and she said that i had gained a 1/4lb. i think she was being nice, it feels a lot more and today i put back on my fat jeans. anyway i had been sick with that pesky cold and along with the girls had not really done anything but leave the couch for tea and biscuits so i can see how it happened.
she said to me that really i needed to crack on with some excersie
now i am not about to join the gym, no one i know has really ever got thinner or fitter for all the money they've spent, so tomorrow i take my free trial on BritMitFit........06:45......don'tya know!
bit nervous. had to fill in and print off and liability waiver against injury and DEATH, so its definitely going to happen, either that or i'll be the only one to tread in dog shit.
i hope i don't have to do a press up, i've got more chance of becoming a super model.

so until then
regards CM
